How to Buy Organic Foods on a Budget!

Organically grown food is better for the planet and your family.  Today, I'll show you the secrets to shopping organically on a budget.

Earth Fare is a great place to find fresh, organic foods.

Tip #1: When shopping, buy fruits and vegetables when they are in-season.  They are cheaper than other foods which have to travel long distances to get to the grocery store. Earth Fare's Genie O'Shaughnessy says, "You need to shop in season and look for the different sales."

And use Tip #2 when you find those sales!  Freeze or can extras to enjoy it much longer - and for a lot less!

Tip #3: Do the prep work yourself.  Buying foods such as whole chickens and un-peeled veggies go a long way towards cutting costs.

Tip #4: Buy store brand products and not name brands ones.  You get the same food but at a lower price.

And Tip #5: Not all organic foods are more expensive!  An organic avocado is 1.50 - a conventional one is 2 dollars.

Here's another shopping secret - stick to the perimeter of the store so you can avoid those tempting but unnecessary items.  So do your part, and get organic into your family's diet without breaking the bank.
