Get Your Carpet Cleaned WITHOUT All The Chemicals!
Who doesn't love a clean carpet? Terri has white carpet and with two kids and two dogs that means trouble! But there is an easy way to Do Your Part when getting your carpets cleaned and reduce your family's exposure to toxic chemicals!
The folks at OxyMagic show us how it's done.
"The main ingredient is sodium bicarbonate which is a 100% green. We do mix it with some mild detergents which are non-toxic, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly," says Eileen O'Neill, owner of OxyMagic.
A little bit of water is used just to activate the cleaning combination.
"It forms a bubbling system in your carpet. It pushes back and forth against the fibers, releasing the dirt. Our vacuum comes in and removes everything that's been released. Simple as that," says O'Neill.
Get this: the dry time is only 30-60 minutes. That's many hours less than traditional carpet cleaning! And, the vacuum removes up to 85% of allergens.
The vacuum uses four filters to remove the allergens lurking in the air and in the carpet. And, because the OxyMagic system doesn't use a lot of chemicals or detergents, the carpets do not get hard and sticky like they do with other cleaning systems. That means peace of mind for parents.
O'Neill says, "They like the idea of non-toxic for their children who are crawling on the floors."
People also like the small machine that's used. There are no big hoses are set-up throughout the house and no dirty water to dispose of later.
"The cool thing about that too is that we can do apartments, we can do condos, we can do wool rugs. We can do simple things that other carpet cleaners can't do because we are portable," says O'Neill.
And if you have pet smells - no problem!
O'Neill says, "I don't like to call it a pet deodorizer, I like to call it an eliminator because basically what it does is an enzyme that gets into the carpet and it eats at any bacteria any natural odor it will be able to remove."
