Limitless Fashion On Limited Budget!

Do you open your closet and say "I have nothing to wear"? Me too.  Especially when I have a special occasion. I discovered that when I have those big nights, rather than buying another new outfit, I could rent designer dresses and have them delivered right to my door. Now that's a way to Do Your Part and save some serious money at the same time.

One Thread Social piece retails for more than 500 dollars and a certain Richard Chai goes for more than 800!  But, I can rent them for about $70 a week from WearTodayGoneTomorrow.com - you can find clothes from some of the biggest designers like Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Versace and so many more.  Renting is an affordable option for an outfit you plan on wearing once and it's a lot easier on the environment!

If you don't mind sharing your own wardrobe - there are some online swap sites - that are practically free.  SwapStyle.com is a great place to start.  You can check out what other people want to swap and upload your own pictures.  Members are rated and can be verified by the site for ten dollars.  After that, swap away for free. DignSwap is a similar site that charges 99 cents per swap.  Both sites allow people to get much more use out items just sitting around in the closet.

And here's an idea if you own a dress that you don't plan to wear again.   Donate it to an organization that provides dresses for teens who can't afford a prom dress. Abby's Closet is one organization that is nationally recognized for collecting dresses and giving them to teens that can't afford prom dresses.

The next time you need something to wear for that special occasion, there are more choices than just buying new. Renting or swapping designer clothing is another way to Do Your Part and save some dough.
